Fridays with FAITH: Supporters Hold Annual ‘Hope for Our Heroes Softball Tournament’
Hello my FAITH-ful friends!
UnFranchise Owners Bill and Angie Baumer, Travis and Dani Ernst, Chelsea Andruscavage, and Shannon Resler have taken some time from building their businesses to raise awareness and money for maCares. This wonderful group organized the Fourth Annual Hope for Our Heroes Coed Softball Tournament in Wisconsin, raising over $11,100 to help cover the continual care costs for service dogs helping veterans, children, and adults in the maCares & faith Cares Service Dog Support Programs!
Many of the volunteers and softball players have served, are currently serving, or have family and friends that have served so the maCares mission of helping to improve the quality of life for veterans is near and dear to their hearts.
98 Degree Bananas took first place in the tournament and graciously donated their winnings back to the cause! Many players remained after elimination to enjoy the patriotism, support a great cause, and learn about the maCares programs.
The annual tournament has grown tremendously because of the awesome work of the UFO organizers. They have recruited family members, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and participants to support the event, sharing a common passion of supporting the men and women who sacrificed to serve our country.
Donations were made by the Baumers along with their friends and family, Baumer Roofing Company, Piggly Wiggly, Bubon Orthodontics, Interstate Power Systems, Lake Five Landscape Supply, and additional individuals and businesses that happily contributed and are eager to support next year’s tournament!
A Fifth Annual Hope for our Heroes Coed Softball Tournament is already in the works for 2021, with many returning teams and even new teams joining to support the event. If you would like to support or help with the 2021 Hope for Our Heroes Coed Softball Tournament, please contact weCare@maCares.org for details!
maCares would not be able to make a difference in the lives of others without your continued support. You can also help us support service dog teams and rescued animals in need. Please visit our website and social media sites to get involved!
