Fridays with Faith:
Good morning Fridays with Faith readers! You may have heard me mention one of our pawsitively awesome initiatives, the Red Dog Relief Fund! In case you missed it, the fund gives rescued animals a second chance at life! By covering the veterinary bills for sick or injured animals who’ve been taken in by Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network, ma Cares is able to help these little critters get the care they need so they’re ready to be adopted into a furever family.
Today I’m here to introduce you to a couple of our most recent relief fund recipients! Meet Moose and Mylo, two very different dogs who share a similar predicament: no permanent home and medical problems that would deter potential adopters. Here are their stories.
My name is Moose. I’m a 4 year-old yellow lab who was found as a stray, wandering local neighborhoods and looking for someone to love me. I was rescued and taken to the vet, where I tested positive for heartworm, lyme and ehrlichia. My ears were so infected that they oozed down my face. I was in so much pain but I continued smiling. My future looked grim, but thanks to ma Cares the folks at Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network were able to pay for the veterinary care to save me. Best of all I’ve found someone to love me in my new forever home!
My name is Mylo and I’m a 17 week-old Maltese/Yorkie mix. An unusual genetic condition resulted in a painful cyst on my eye. Without surgery the cyst could continue to grow, cause continued eye irritation and prevent me from blinking. Thanks to ma Cares, Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network will be able to afford my surgery and I will get some much needed relief! Even better, a few folks have expressed an interest in adopting me! Soon I will be on my way to my forever home!
Pretty pawesome right? If you’d like to help us cover the veterinary care for four-leggeds like Moose and Mylo, donate today at http://www.macares.org/ or contact us for questions! Come back next week for more tails from yours truly!
