Fridays with Faith: 2015 Initiatives
Good morning Fridays with Faith readers! Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were as pawesome as can be! Today I’ve got some exciting news to announce: our 2015 charitable initiatives!
ma Cares is excited to announce a NEW outreach program! This year we will partner with Backpack Beginnings to provide comfort backpacks to homeless children.
The kids are so sweet I want to lick their faces, and we will be bringing them backpacks that are purrfect for their age and gender and filled with cool stuff like dog toys, I mean stuffed animals, books, toys, socks, school supplies, and hygiene products. We hope these bags will help children who’re struggling to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings.
We’re so excited I’m wagging my tail nonstop because our new partnership with Backpack beginnings will allow us to do even more for homeless families beyond our current provision of monthly food donations, school supplies, holiday sponsorships, special activities, and more.
Additionally, we have grown our Faith Cares program which currently covers the cost of veterinary care, grooming, food, and supplies for the service dogs of veterans and provides “Patriot Packs” to encourage servicemen and women through our partnership with the USO of NC. Now we will offer even more assistance to our veterans by covering the cost of further training for their service dogs (like me!) Your contributions are much appreciated and we encourage you to join us in showing appreciation for our nation’s heroes!
Our Red Dog Relief by ma Cares fund will continue to provide emergency veterinary care to homeless animals so that they will be healthy enough to find their forever homes. This really warms my furry heart because we’re able to give hope to animals that might not otherwise have a second chance.
I hope you will get involved this year, and for those who have helped us along the way, thank you for your support! High paws! Visit http://www.macares.org/contact for our contact info!
