I grew up in Greensboro, NC, and like most southern guys I’m pretty laid back – except when it comes to Sports. My father and grandfather both attended the University of Tennessee, so as a youth I was thoroughly brainwashed to be a Big Orange fan. I ended up going to school there myself, and was fortunate enough to witness a National Championship during my sophomore year. Well, my first sophomore year anyway. 🙂

Apart from sports, my other interests include History, Politics, Astronomy, Video Games, and anything related to Technology. To be perfectly honest I’m a total nerd. I took apart my first computer when I was 9 years old (my uncle never really forgave me), and have been hooked ever since. This fascination with technology translated into a love of the sciences in college, but my inability to do Math beyond a 2nd grade level really put a damper on my career in Astrophysics.

Aside from that, I’m the proud owner of three of the world’s dumbest dogs – a claim that has been proven time and again by their utterly absurd eating habits. Let’s just say I’ve come home from work only to find they’ve eaten part of a metal chair. I suspect they are part Billy goat. Nevertheless, I love Emmy, Jack, and Reggie with all my heart.

Lisa Tufts
Lisa Tufts is a Committee Member for maCares and also serves as Market America’s International Marketplace Manager. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA she began volunteering at a young age in the local Philadelphia community. Taking the long route to North Carolina, she arrived here after spending 2 and a half years completing 2 Master’s degrees while working in Australia. In addition to traveling, she’s an avid football fan. You can usually find her yelling at the TV while watching her Philadelphia Eagles during football season. Lisa now resides in North Carolina with her adorable JUG (Jack Russell/ Pug Mix), Jersey Girl.

Brandi Quinn
President
Brandi Quinn is the President of maCares. Her passion and compassion are contagious. For the past 15 years, Brandi has spearheaded different projects in the community. She has encouraged and inspired the maCares committee and volunteers to give back to the community in a variety of ways and can always be found at the center of it all, working tirelessly to support the various organizations that maCares supports. Brandi and her husband, Mike, live in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina with their three beloved dogs, Scooter, Cooper, and Peanut.

FAITH HINKLEY
My name is FAITH HINKLEY, and I’m a service dog to Sgt. Terry White, PH IOF. You’ve probably seen me around the Market America office or at one of their events. I’m the pretty blonde with the big smile. The wonderful maCares team is pretty fond of me, and they’ve decided to devote Friday’s blog post to my stories, pearls of wisdom, and “tails” of others giving back to their communities. We’ll call it “Fridays with FAITH”.

What you may not know about me is that I’m named after someone special. The flag that represents this great country flies high on the flag pole for my namesake’s sacrifice. I am named in memory of US Army Sergeant Faith Hinkley, who died on August 7, 2010 in Iskandariya, Iraq. Faith was part of the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Through me, Faith Hinkley’s legacy lives on, helping and healing another wounded soldier.

Abby Lynch
Project Manager
Abby Lynch is the maCares Project Manager. She has a passion for helping others and is an active volunteer within the community. Her greatest joys are her 3 rescued “fur babies” – Lizzy, Barley, and Nutmeg. She feels each of her dogs have rescued her. One of Abby’s proudest achievements is donating over 13 inches of hair to Pantone Beautiful Lengths in memory of her grandmother. Born in South Carolina and raised in North Carolina, Abby is a true Carolina girl and a devoted Tar Heel fan. She attended University of North Carolina at Greensboro and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing and a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Her background is in banking and finance, marketing, brand representation, and event coordination.
