Each piece of the puzzle matters.
The issues that impact children, adults, pets, local communities, our national community and the global community, all have a ripple effect. The actions or lack of action by one person can impact the lives of so many more people than they ever dreamed. Every individual matters. Their needs matter. Their contribution matters. It’s not about magnitude or quantity, but rather the exponential impact of one person touching another. maCares is making a difference and the effects can literally stretch around the globe.
maCares exists to celebrate and improve the quality of life for children, families, veterans, and animals. It all began in 1998 – more than two decades ago, and has continued to flourish. Desiring to have a greater impact and increase community participation, maCares established its 501c3 status in 2012. Since then, we have been able to raise funds to support meaningful causes within our community, thanks to support from businesses and individuals.
Since 2012, maCares has donated school supplies, clothing, toys, and more to homeless children; aided 10 families in furnishing their homes; raised $10,000 to support earlier detection of breast cancer; helped place animals in loving homes; donated more than 4,000 packs of supplies to troops overseas; started a sponsorship program to provide continual care costs for service dogs of veterans, children, and adults suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Type 1 Diabetes, physical, neurological, and/or medical challenges.
“What started out as a small grassroots effort has grown in leaps and bounds, thanks to the collective energies of compassionate people and the generous support of local businesses and community members.” says maCares President Brandi Quinn. “maCares is successful because its participants realize that actions speak louder than words, that everyone has something of value to contribute, and that by making a difference in the lives of others, we are enriching our own. We are committed, we care, and we invite the community to join us in changing lives for the better.”
