Fridays With FAITH: How You and maCares Can Make a Difference in Miami at the Market America World Conference

Hello my FAITH-ful readers! I hope you enjoyed the paw-lidays! I’m getting so excited preparing for my trip to Miami to see YOU at the Market America World Conference. Terry, Jill and I are jumping with excitement over the chance to see familiar faces and meet new friends while we are raising awareness at the maCares booth. I can’t wait for you to learn more about how maCares is helping provide emergency veterinary care for rescued animals and is ‘helping service dogs help others’. But they need your help! This World Conference, maCares has the paw-rrific activities listed below that you can take part in at the maCares booth at Section 115.

Help yours truly and my veteran Terry help others by bringing your loose change to MAWC for the Change for a Change jar. The Change for a Change program offers a way for YOU to help make a difference with loose change! Donations help fund the Service Dog Support Program which helps service dogs (like ME) help others. Your Change for a Change donation will assist with the cost of training and re-certification, veterinary care, grooming, food, and supplies for my 4-legged service dog friends. And get this- all donations collected in the Change for a Change jar will be matched up to $5,000! So bring your coins (and bills) to help us make a difference in the lives of others!

You can also donate online at by clicking the ‘Please Donate’ button. Please send an email to letting maCares know you want your donation to go to the Change for a Change Program.

If you’re not attending MAWC, you can still help us! Contact the maCares team at to learn how you can host a Pennies for Pups drive at your school, church, or civic organization.

Instead of spinning around chasing your tail, take a spin on the maCares’ Prize Wheel – back by popular demand! For a $1 donation, take a spin for your chance to win some great prizes such as a Market America Gift Basket of Products worth $600 or a ticket to MAIC 2017 in Greensboro, NC. Since there is no limit to the number of spins, be ready to get your spin on!

Like camo? maCares’ Operation Uniform offers hand-crafted wristlets and universal tablet covers repurposed from retired combat military uniforms. There will be a limited number of these wristlets and universal tablet covers during MAWC so make sure to stop by early! If you’re not attending MAWC, you can still purchase a wristlet or tablet cover by emailing the maCares team at

My maCares friends just received new colors of maCares and faith Cares adult and youth shirts. For the best selection, visit the maCares booth early. Need a nice blanket to keep you warm during conference, tailgating, or snuggling on the couch? maCares has you covered! Be sure to get your paws on one of the notecard sets featuring the 8 faith Cares service dogs! As always, 100 percent of proceeds go towards helping rescued animals in need of a fur-ever home and service dogs assisting children and adults, including veterans.

If you’re not able to stop by to see Terry and yours truly at the maCares booth at MAWC to learn more about the maCares 2017 charitable initiatives, connect with us over social media to catch up on the latest news and for ways on how you can help make a difference! You can also contact us at with questions and merchandise requests for a maCares or faith Cares t-shirt, blanket, notecard set, camo wristlet, or camo tablet cover.

My name is FAITH, and I'm a service dog to Sgt Terry White, PH IOF. You've probably seen me around the Market America office or at one of their events. I'm the pretty blonde with the big smile The wonderful maCares team is pretty fond of me, and they've decided to devote each Friday's blog post to my stories, pearls of wisdom, and "tails" of others giving back to their communities. We'll call it "Fridays with Faith". What you may not know about me is that I'm named after someone special. The flag that represents this great country flies high on the flag pole for my namesake's sacrifice. I am named in memory of U.S. Army Sergeant Faith Hinkley, who died on August 7, 2010 in Iskandariya, Iraq. Faith was part of the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Through me, Faith Hinkley's legacy lives on, helping and healing another wounded soldier. maCares loves making a difference in the lives of veterans and animals. Please consider donating or getting involved with maCares so they can continue supporting veterans and dogs like Terry and me, and honoring heroes like Faith Hinkley.
