Fridays with Faith: DIG this!

Post 382 of 574

“It’s all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone.”  “I like big mutts.”  “Your dog doesn’t know sit.”  Has your favorite rover reporter turned wiseacre?  Not quite!  Good morning Fridays with Faith readers.  I’m shopping smart for some pawsome, fun apparel and gifts from Dog is Good!  You’ll find tees, hats, and other goodies with fun phrases like this, all at your claws (I mean fingertips) on their website!

What is Dog is Good, you may ask?  Well, they’re a company whose mission is to Deliver Dogvergnügen.  Huh?  That means the joy you feel in the presence of Dog.  My ears are definitely perked up now!  Terry would surely agree that my presence brings him great happiness, if I do say so myself.  So what could be better than the ability to purchase shirts, hats, mugs, and more that express your love of dogs in such a fun way?  Owned by Jon and Gila Kurtz, the company makes stylish apparel and gifts with me (I mean the dog-lover) in mind!

In addition to making really cool stuff, they also have earned a reputation for being a “force for good” by giving generously to animal welfare organizations.  They have worked with countless animal shelters and pet-related non-profits, designed custom products to raise money, donated to auctions, and made monetary contributions to support animal welfare., American Humane Association, and Victoria Stilwell Foundation are a few of the larger “Charity Partners” that they work with.  Did you know that they donate a portion of sales from the “I Like Big Mutts” line and “Promise to my Dog”  to for distribution to animal rescue groups?  They’ve even donated products for our A Night of Stars – Saluting Our Veterans benefit event.  Get your tickets and come out to place your bid!

Are you the proud parent of a rescue?  Do you like big mutts (or small ones)?  Share a photo of you with your rescue  with Dog is Good and help spread the word about the importance of rescue, foster, and adoption.

Join Me In Supporting maCares

This article was written by FAITH

My name is FAITH, and I'm a service dog to Sgt Terry White, PH IOF. You've probably seen me around the Market America office or at one of their events. I'm the pretty blonde with the big smile The wonderful maCares team is pretty fond of me, and they've decided to devote each Friday's blog post to my stories, pearls of wisdom, and "tails" of others giving back to their communities. We'll call it "Fridays with Faith". What you may not know about me is that I'm named after someone special. The flag that represents this great country flies high on the flag pole for my namesake's sacrifice. I am named in memory of U.S. Army Sergeant Faith Hinkley, who died on August 7, 2010 in Iskandariya, Iraq. Faith was part of the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Through me, Faith Hinkley's legacy lives on, helping and healing another wounded soldier. maCares loves making a difference in the lives of veterans and animals. Please consider donating or getting involved with maCares so they can continue supporting veterans and dogs like Terry and me, and honoring heroes like Faith Hinkley.
